Hear the drummer (get wicked)...

Yes, friends - I have drums (thanks to Grandma Barbara and Grandad Don!!!!)

Here I am, bashing out a personal fave, and as you can see, I am quite pleased with the results (see me applaud myself at the end!!!)

Hmmm, I think I might ask for a full drumkit for Christmas....
Something to keep the parents entertained...

Random Pics

Just a few random pics here, that don't really belong anywhere else, but keep you, dear readers, mildly entertained until I can tear myself away from my thousands of pounds worth of toys to write my next post.

OK, how do we get CBeebies on this thing?

Right, the pound's gone in - cue completely unimpressed look...

I don't believe it - he's forgotten the ham *again*...

Me. In my best "looking completely natural and relaxed in 'Hello' magazine" pose.

My new baby...

My new baby has a lot to say...

...here, for example, she's telling me....

...that Daddy is a silly wa-wa!

We get on soooo well. We just see eye-to-eye on so many topics!

Christmas 2? No, my 1st ever birthday!!!

Yes, the whole family spent hours hurriedly preparing this card, which was shown on CBeebies (my favourite channel) on the day. When Daddy finally works out how to get the footage from the Sky+ box to his computer, you'll see it here!

Update: He *has*. I knew dad would get there in the end - he's uploaded the vid onto youtube, so that you all can share my first ever national TV appearance. Click on the image below to view.

Another event, another new car. This one is pink (again) but is just like the one down at Run Amok - but did I mention it's pink?!?!

As you can see, I have my own private plate and everything...

And my lovely cake, with my lovely balloons, at my lovely party. Thank you mummy for organising it all. Oh, and Daddy lit the candles :-)

He's BEEN!!!

Santa didn't forget me after all. And proof, were it needed, that I have been a good girl all year!!!

Monday, 24 December 2007

So this is Christmas?

Here I am, not getting what all the fuss is about Christmas... I've waited all year to climb into a massively oversized sock?

Daddy, there had better have been a mistake. You promised presents... GO! And don't come back empty handed!

Freya - Stronger

Loyal fans amongst you may remember that I now have my own mobile DJ booth (cunningly disguised as a walker!)

However, I'm not always on the decks - oh no, sometimes I just let my 'long pieces' down and dance like there's no tomorrow.

Obligatory YouTube evidence:

Can't stop, I've got to get back on the dancefloor and throw some shapes (or at least wave my hairbrush!)

Freya x

I can also say... Mama!

You may remember that back in September I posted my new skill of saying 'Dada' - and mentioned that all I needed to master was 'Mama', 'Gem' and 'Choc-choc'...

...well, I'm half way there!

Here's the proof - as if you needed it:

And why the face at the end? Well, as usual, Dada was making me wait (for a bath this time!!! - Will he ever learn?)

Kisses

New Pink Coat

OK, so the new pink coat (and hat) are hardly blogworthy items on their own... but:

Hey! This is my new pink hat and coat - I am *the* best dressed baby on the block!

Daddy shows me a big pink slug that he appears to be eating...

...Phew, he's swallowed it! Rather him than me!

Climbing!

Here I am, in another short video showing you my new climbing skills.

In this, I am scaling the infamous north face of Mount DJ Walker - a climb not recommended for beginners!

With this in hand, my next big challenge is the literally vertical Mount Glass TV Stand - going up past the xbox and sky+ unit - a climb notoriously dangerous, due to panicking parents and unsteady legs (and gravity!)

My First Halloween

No, I didn't go out 'trick or treating' - instead Nana came and looked after me while Daddy and Gem went out (not sure if they were trick or treating, but they made an excuse about parents evening or something...)

Here I am, wearing the lovely first halloween outfit Uncle Simon and Laura bought for me

...and without the bib...

Raaaaah! - Scary enough for you?...

...What about now?

Such good sports

Mummy and Daddy are *such* good sports.... So I thought I'd just paste a few pics of our games here for all to see.

As you can see, we play at:

See-saws...

Advanced throwing and catching...

And my favourite - No Holds Barred Ultimate Cage Fighting!

As you can see, I won by a submission but the match was later declared void as I had thrown Daddy out of the cage shortly before this was taken.

They don't realise it yet, but my next big projects are 'cruising' on furniture and all out walking... watch this space!

My 1st Bunches

Long time, no speak, my many legions of fans... Thought I'd better update you, before you phone Social Services explaining that I haven't updated my blog in a while... Naturally, there's been good reasons for this, the major one of which has been my giving mummy and daddy the runaround. In return, they've been out buying (again), so I'm sure they enjoy it. Just thought I'd post a few pics that scream 'cuteness personified' or something...

me with my first bunches in - here, mummy put my "long pieces" in bunches...

...and then she and daddy spent the next 20 mins taking pictures and reminiscing about Gem's "paintbrushes"!

Me in my rabbit hat - and it's not even Easter!

And finally, me desperately trying to work out how to enable the wi-fi on this new laptop that Nana and Gramps have bought... I think I'll just ask Daddy to have a look at it later... Always seems to work for Gem!

I can say Dada....

...which I'm sure will be very useful in getting pretty much anything I want!!!

Anyway, Dada being Dada, he decided to film me while I said it for the second time (and third actually, but he seems not to notice - That's gratitude, eh??!?!)

I now just need to master the words Mama, Gem, and choc-choc, and that's pretty much all the vocabulary a girl needs, right?

DJ Freya on the wheels of.... er, plastic!

Santa's been!!!

Actually, apparently Grandma Barbara has sent this, my Chicco DJ Walker, to Santa, and he's been good enough to let me have it early so that I can get the best use out of it....

Dr Dre - er, Fre ready to mix another killer set...

...working the crossfader and syncing those phat beats

Giving evils to all those who dis my mixing skills...

The end of another anthemic set... and ready to mix porridge!!!

Heaton Park

Just a few pics of my recent trip out to Heaton Park.... ...enjoy

Me, wearing my new poncho

Hang on, if Daddy's on the front of that train, who's holding me?

Faster, faster, faaaaaaaster....

Daddy said there were 40 mancunians inside this horse, ready to invade Troy. How he laughed at his own joke, whilst mummy and I looked on, hoping he'd shut up.

"What? I should be looking *which* other way?"

"OK, you've bought me the massive balloon... now can we go home?"

Friday, 17 August 2007

For all the doubters...

I've heard one or two people are making out as though Daddy's writing my blog.

But see, this is me...

Just as long as we've got this straight... my blog, I write it...

...and as you can see from my reaction to this photograph, I hate interruptions!!!

Will post back soon, if I can ever get some work done!!!

Mummy is sooooo funny

Here's me and my mummy playing the game of 'I look away while bouncing, pretend I'm not interested, I turn back, you say "peep-o", I laugh. Like never before' :-)

Watch the video, it makes perfect sense....

My new car!

Yes, I know I'm only 6 months old... but I've been and bought a car.

I've been thinking about it for a while now, and then this weekend we were out in Blackburn, and there it was. We had a quick look around it, kicked the tyres, agreed a price etc (actually, it was from mothercare, so the price agreed was the full retail!) and then bought it. Actually, Mummy spotted it, and persuaded Daddy to buy it. I don't remember that he took much convincing actually.

Anyway - enough of the chat - enjoy this video that Daddy has cleverly put together (he's bribed me to say that - and now he owes me more chocolate and banana custard than he could ever afford!) while I've been in bed. I'm clearly making his life far too easy if he has time to do this!

Bye for now - places to go, people to see (and transport to get there!)

Very Arty, Daddy...

Yes, Daddy's been playing with Photoshop again. He probably should have been making bottles or something at the time, but here's the fruits of his labour. Impressed, aren't you?

Please, humour him. He's probably spent hours just on this one photo.

Wednesday, 4 July 2007

My first bolognese!!!

As I mentioned in my earlier post, I'm now eating real grown-up food. It's harder work than just lying in someone's arms and drinking a bottle, but it is tasty... ...it also gives mummy and daddy something else to do, as they seem to have the bottle thing sorted now...

yum yum yum... more

OK, but I ate most of it...

wow, this is hard work, feeling reeeeally.....

tired out!!!

My new bouncy toy

Just a quick post to let you know that I've got a new toy - a bouncer!!!

Here I am in it... ...enjoy!

Not looking exactly sure what it is I'm supposed to do...

See my bib - did I tell you I'm eating real food now, just like a grown up? Maybe I'll post more on this later

Here's me and Gem - I offered her a go in my bouncer, but she was a bit too dressed up...

And here she is... I know this is my blog, but she has my picture as her MSN display picture, so it seems only fair that I let you all see her dressed up for her prom... (Mummy and Daddy have, I'm sure, started saving for mine... only 16 years to go!)

Kisses (wet and dribbly ones)

Me and my mummy

A nice selection of photos of me and my mummy together. I'm so lucky that I only have to share her with my big sister Gem - although mummy says that daddy is like another child with all his messing the house up and waiting to be fed... He looks big enough to do this himself - though he *is* good fun when it's playtime... ...and he knows how to make bottles up and change nappies!!!

A new cot buddy

As promised, a couple of pics of my gym and some others...

Me wondering who this new girl is that seems to be sleeping in my cot!

(Some of) my ever increasing wardrobe

Yes, I know it's been a long while since I posted... I've been busy (growing and) buying new outfits with mummy and daddy...

Anyway, enough talk - here's some more pics for you to look at taken over the last month or so, showing off my cot bed and a range of my lovely outfits...

Just a couple of pics

I'm not stopping long, so it's a short post this time... Daddy's gone back to work after his month off (to be honest, the only difference I've noted is that the xbox is on much less) and Mummy's doing a great job of pandering to my every need.

Yesterday we went shopping again and I got a new 'gym', which seems to focus much less on the treadmills, rowing machines and weights than I imagined, and much more on the colourful mat, lights, electronic Mozart, zebras with crinkly ears and swinging monkeys with elasticated legs. Yes, you read all of that last sentence right... I'll get Daddy to take some pictures of it soon.

In the meantime, I just thought I'd share a couple of pictures with you that have been taken recently...

Me and "the team" - they're all smiles in this one, as they have no idea yet that I've actually taken over their lives!!!

Go on, tell me that you've ever seen cuter than this...

Thought not. :-)

Night...

Me in the bath & others...

Yes, I know more pictures are what you all want, but to be honest I'm trying to communicate with you people, as Mummy and Daddy are useless at trying to interpret what I want.

I clearly tell them that I want the milk immediately after having a bath every night, and they have me waiting 30 seconds or more while they talk about how cute I am after a bath, how much lighter my hair is, and how blue my eyes still are (check the pics... it's all true!)

I'm wasting my time here... you're scanning this text to skip to the pics, aren't you? It wouldn't surprise me if you've already looked at them, and are reading this as an afterthought... :-)

Me and my Nana - she can make me smile just by talking to me!

Me, Mum & Dad - They've got pretty much all I need, they just need to be quicker!

Me vs Pink Bunny... Freya wins after using the Tyson-esque ear-biting technique!

Yeah, nice... me in the bath... already I'm ready to punch Daddy's light's out if that bottle's not ready when I get out!

I try the polite throat-clearing technique, in case he's forgotten...

I motion at him to quit holding the back of my head, and get the bottle.
Surely the body language is obvious:
left hand: "5 mins in the bottle warmer, and make it snappy!"
right hand: "...if you know what's good for you!!!"

Right, that's it - you can't expect for me to wait to be dried before you feed me!!!

And for making me wait, you, Daddy, can have two sharp fingernails run across your neck.

...and next time maybe we can avoid all this by having my bottle ready on time?!?!? :-)

Night, everyone!

More Pictures!

Yes, I know... Daddy (and Mummy for that matter) has been going mad with the digital camera again...

Still, it keeps you (my loyal fans, family and friends) in the picture (if you'll excuse the pun) and apart from the ones where they don't warn me, and the flash hurts my eyes, I don't really mind.

I'm only just over a week old and I've already been out shopping - I went with Mummy and Daddy to Mamas & Papas and Next yesterday - thankfully they've spared you seeing this, but as Daddy's not at work for a month, I'm guessing this isn't likely to be a rare outing. In fact, I heard them talking about another trip to Mamas and Papas further away, and how they're going to have to take some spare nappies and bottles.

To be honest, I've got more clothes than I could possibly ever wear before I grow out of them, but I'm not complaining.

A girl needs choice in her wardrobe, right?!?

Anyway, here's the pics I was talking about...

Me looking typically amused at Daddy's jokes...

... about me and my 'ready to ride a motorbike' legs!

Yes, I really am smiling. Mummy was tickling my tummy. More... more....

It's all too much... Yes, I really am rolling my eyes...

Yes, I really am sticking out my tongue. It's the only way to get milk around here!

Yes, I really am.... ...feeling really tired. Night, everyone!

Me & Mummy are home!

Just a quick post to let you all know we're home!

See!

Wednesday, 24 January 2007

You think I was born yesterday?

....errr, well, actually... you'd be right!

Yes, today I am 1 whole day old!!! Today Nana came to see me again, and brought me some pink clothes, and ones which fit too! I don't know if it's just me, but most of the stuff that Mum and Dad brought look like they'll fit my big sister Gemma.

Later on Daddy & Gem came and played with me for a bit. Daddy seemed to enjoy changing my dirty nappy soooo much! As a treat, I waited until just after he'd changed me before I filled that one too!

Anyway, too tired to type much... I'll just leave you to look at me in these pics:

Keep this date in your diaries!

Heyyyyyyyy, long time no post... well, must be about a week at least.

So today, I decided to make an appearance!

It was getting a little cramped in there, I can tell you.

So... all the answers to the usual 'frequently asked questions' are here:

I'm a girl.
No, they didn't know before I was born (and they made this quite obvious too!)
Yes, 7lb 5oz.
Yes, it is a good weight isn't it?
Yes, Freya.
No, no middle names.
Yes, I came out like a little Caesar. He was demanding too, I hear...
Yes, I'm perfect thank you.
And yes, Mummy's fine too.

Daddy? Well, he's a little tired (and emotional!), but bearing up... you know, he's never one to make a fuss, he just soldiers on... ( - what do you mean this isn't a frequently asked question??!?!) :-)
I'm sure there's others in there too, but can't think of any right now (you try thinking clearly after going through what I've been through...

Oh wait, there is the old "who does she look like?" chestnut?

Well, a few people have said I look like Daddy. Which I suppose is roughly true. We've both got approximately the same amount of hair (though mine has more style than his, and mine will actually grow longer!!!). The only other similarity seems to be that we both have heads.
I've also been likened to Mummy, and Gemma. To be honest, these are far more flattering comparisons. When I grow up, I'm going to be just like Gemma. She's already told me that she's going to buy me loads of fancy things to put in my hair.

OK, that's enough talk. Just ooh, aah and awww over a few more pics, and I'll demand Daddy takes some more soon.

Wednesday, 17 January 2007

Me in "the oven"...

... or at least, that's what I hear Daddy saying. He also seems to think I'm a bun.

I fear that my only hope is that I'll have to hurry up and get born, pray that he's never solely responsible for my care, and educate myself to the level where I might find a cure for whatever he's got. In the meantime, he'll just have to carry on with the medication, and maybe speak to a good GP about upping his dose.

I'm also still slightly concerned that no-one knows my name is Freya yet. "Baby" Hendry may be cute, but could be slightly tiresome by the time I reach my teens. They don't seem to realise that everytime they get my name wrong, "the oven" (don't worry - *I* know it's Mummy... I'm just playing them at their own game here!) gets a kick in the tummy.

Tuesday, 12 September 2006

This is me too! (getting bigger!!!)

Yeah, me again...

I suppose I am kinda cute aren't I?

Mum and Dad took me over to Blackburn again to look at me on the screen again, and came away with this photo. Surprisingly, no-one mentioned what sex I am, and no-one asked... Dad keeps saying there's still a 50/50 chance of being right. Hehehehe, he has no idea!!!

People are saying I look just like my Dad. I've not met him yet, but I'm guessing he must pout a lot, like I am in this photo.

I've also heard people say I look like my big sister, Gem...

She says she's going to look after me, and teach me everything I need to know. She told me the other day that "if Mum and Dad say 'we'll see', then it means "yes".

I'll have to remember that one... could prove useful in future!

Tuesday, 18 July 2006

Little Young Me!

Hello!

No-one else knows yet, but I'm Freya Hendry.

This is a pic of me at my first scan!!!

Cute? Well, I'm not one to brag, but that word has been mentioned once or twice while Mum and Dad have been talking about me.

They don't even know what sex I am yet... hehehehe, keep 'em guessing eh?

Might not be too many updates for a while... This developing lark is a bit tiring, but I promise I'll post back as soon as there's news worth posting!
